OSHA Investigating After Man Fatally Struck by Forklift
The incident took place at a manufacturing plant in Alsip.

A 59-year-old man was killed Oct. 29 when he was struck by a forklift while working at a manufacturing plant in Alsip.
John E. Miller, of Wilmington, was on foot when he was hit by the forklift as it was moving in reverse at BBC Fasteners Inc. at 4210 W. Shirley Ln. in Alsip, reports the Chicago Sun-Times.
Miller, of the 100 block of Laurel Avenue in Wilmington, was transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 3:30 p.m. An autopsy concluded he died of injuries from the crash, with heart disease also listed as a contributing factor.

The driver of the forklift was not cited or charged, Alsip Deputy Police Chief Jay Miller told the Sun-Times. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating.
