Overnight Closures To Begin At Roberts Road and 87th Street

Overnight closures will begin the week of May 9 for bridge beam removal at I-294 near 87th Street and Roberts Road. Expect delays.

HICKORY HILLS, IL – Overnight road closures are scheduled to start this week on Roberts Road and 87th Street to accommodate bridge beam removal for the Central Tri-State Tollway (I-294) Project. This work will also require a weekend-long closure of both roads at their intersection under I-394. Delays are expected.

The temporary closures are necessary to safely accommodate the removal of bridge beams on I-294 over Roberts Road and 87th Street. Electronic message signs and construction signage will be in place in advance to alert drivers to each of the closures and detours. Up-to-date closure information will be posted on the Tollway website in the Daily Construction Alert. All work is weather dependent.

On Roberts Road under I-294, up to two nights of full roadway closures will be scheduled during the week of May 9. The closures will begin at 9 p.m. with the roadway reopening by 5 a.m. the following morning. During the roadway closures, a posted detour will route traffic via 95th Street, 88th Avenue/Cork Avenue and 79th Street.
