Palos 118 East Elementary Food Drive Nets Over 1,200 Donations

The drive is organized each year by the Palos East student council.

Palos 118 East Elementary School recently completed a successful holiday food drive.

Students collected a total of 1,273 non-perishable food items donated by Palos East families for its annual food drive which benefits the Palos Heights Food Pantry.

The drive is organized each year by the Palos East student council said 5th grade teacher Cathy Casey. She said that the drive helps stock the local pantry during the holiday season and assists members of the community in need.

Mrs. Casey said that student council members collect the food and pack it up for delivery.

“The Palos East community is always very supportive and generous with their donations to the food drive,” said Mrs. Casey, adding, “The Palos Heights Food Pantry is very appreciative and thankful for their support.”
