Palos 118 Educational Foundation Donates $4,700 for Media Centers

Funds raised by the Palos 118 Educational Foundation provide financing for items that may be beyond the means of conventional public school

The Palos Educational Foundation recently presented checks totaling $4700 to Palos School District 118. Foundation president Sheila Pacholski presented each school’s principal with a check at the October meeting of the Palos 118 Board of Education. The Foundation hosts its Laps for Literature fundraiser each year in September.

To participate, students solicit donations and walk laps around the schools on the day of the event which includes music and a fun atmosphere.

Funds raised by the Palos 118 Educational Foundation provide financing for items that may be beyond the means of conventional public school funding. To date the Foundation has donated just over $664,000 to Palos School District 118.

Mrs. Pacholski said that the annual event is always fun and a great way to get students excited about reading and raising funds for the school building media centers.

“The Palos 118 Educational Foundation is dedicated to the lifelong learners of Palos 118,” said Mrs. Pacholski.
