Palos 118 Wins Award for Website Redesign

The redesign of the palos118.org website began with a goal of providing an improved end user experience for District 118 families.

Palos Consolidated School District 118 has been recognized for its exceptional communications efforts receiving an award of merit for website redesign by the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (INSPRA).

Each year, INSPRA holds an annual Communications Contest, where it recognizes the top school communications projects in the state. Professional school communicators from across the country judged the hundreds of submissions which included the revamp of the palos118.org website which went live at the beginning of 2023.

The redesign of the palos118.org website began with a goal of providing an improved end user experience for District 118 families, according to Brock Stein, Palos 118 Director of Communications and Community Engagement.

“We looked at the areas of highest traffic on the site and focused on making it easier for our families to access those pages as quickly and as easily as possible when they visit online,” he said. The new site is also better optimized for mobile usability which accounts for just over 65% of visitor traffic.

“This is one of the highlights of the year when we recognize the tremendous work school communicators are doing across Illinois through our Communications Contest,” said INSPRA President Denise Barr.

“Today’s school communicators are tasked with serving their communities on a number of important issues and it’s incredibly important that we, as a profession, take time to recognize those among us who continue to set the bar high.”
