PALOS, IL — Palos communities will honor the service of local veterans with remembrance ceremonies throughout the weekend for Veterans Day, which this year, falls on Saturday.

Palos Hills

Join the City of Palos Hills as they honor all those who fought and served in our nation’s conflicts on Veterans Day. Observances will start at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Veterans Memorial, Town Square Park, 8455 W. 103rd St. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony. If inclement weather, call the community center at 708-430-4500.

Cook County Commissioner Donna Miller is an invited guest.

Palos Heights

The City of Palos Heights Veterans Day ceremony starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Memorial Park, 7607 W. College Drive.

The Palos Heights Public Library, 12501 S. 71st Ave., will hold its annual Veterans Day reception immediately following the city’s ceremony, starting at noon.

All veterans, family members and patrons are invited. Meet local veterans at this informal gathering. Light refreshments will be served.

Palos Park

Starting at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, the Village of Palos Park will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Palos Park Recreation Center, 8901 W. 123rd St. The ceremony will include remarks from elected officials and spoken word. Following the ceremony light refreshments will be served.
