Palos Cops Stake Out Dunkin' Rooftops Friday For Special Olympics

PALOS HEIGHTS-PALOS PARK, IL — Palos Heights and Palos Park police officers will be staking out the rooftops of Dunkin' to raise money for Special Olympics Illinois athletes. The 2022 Cop on a Rooftop event will be held statewide at Dunkin stores on Friday, Aug. 19. More than 293 law enforcement agencies plan to participate.

From 5 a.m. to noon, each guest that makes a donation to the Illinois Special Olympics Torch Run will receive a coupon for a free donut. Guests who donate $10 or more will receive a Law Enforcement Torch Run and Dunkin’ branded travel mug (while supplies last) and a coupon for a free medium hot coffee.

Palos Heights police will be camped out on Dunkin' rooftops at 12807 S. Harlem Avenue and 11849 Southwest Highway.

You can find Palos Park officers at the Dunkin' on 13029 S. LaGrange Road.

This is the 20th year of this event. Dunkin’s partnership in Illinois has raised more than $6.7 million. In 2021, nearly $870,000 was raised across 293 locations. This year’s goal is to raise more than $900,000 for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois.
