Palos Fine Arts Offering Scholarships To High School Students
Palos Fine Arts is offering scholarships to high school students and seniors residing with the Dist. 230 and Dist. 218 boundaries.
PALOS PARK, IL — High school juniors and seniors residing within the Dist. 230 and Dist. 218 boundaries are invited to apply for arts scholarships offered by Palos Fine Arts. The arts organization has been awarding scholarships since 1991. Applicants must attend Stagg, Sandburg, Andrew, Shepard, Richards, Southwest Christian, Brother Rice, Marist, Mother McAuley, Providence, or may be home-schooled.
Students must write an essay of 1,000 words or less, including a brief history, their educational goals, what motivates to attend the class or workshop, and their area of interest. Applicants must also include samples of their work in the form of a CD, tape, slides, audio or manuscript sent to be reviewed by the scholarship committee. Materials will not be returned.
A short statement regarding the student’s talent, work ethic, or future academic plans from the school department head, instructor or guidance counselor must be included with the applications. - Music
- Visual Arts
- Creative Writing
- Dance
