Palos Heights To Chip In Tax Incentives For Boardwalk Project
The council agreed to a special taxing district, and changes to the existing TIF, as the next step in the Boardwalk project.

Plans for the Boardwalk of Palos Heights inched forward again last week, with a decision to establish a special business taxing district.
The council voted unanimously in favor of a resolution that paves the way for the taxing district, as well as an adjustment to the existing Gateway TIF Redevelopment Plan and Project Area, The Regional News reports.
The vote came shortly before an impassioned plea that the council members reconsider before further working with 83 Harlem LLC, the group with the vision for a combo of restaurants, a boutique hotel, condominiums, and retail stores at College Drive and Harlem Avenue.
