Palos Hills Man Accused Of Torching Unoccupied Unit In Building
The fire was contained to an unoccupied unit in a building on Roberts Road. Illinois State Fire Marshal ruled the fire an arson.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A Palos Hills man is accused of setting fire to an unoccupied unit in a building last week on Roberts Road. Abdullah A. Daoud was taken into custody and charged with arson, a class 2 felony.
Around 8:30 a.m. June 14, Palos Hills police, along with the North Palos Fire District, responded to a structure fire in the 10200 block of Roberts Road. The fire was contained to an unoccupied unit in the building and was extinguished.
Due to the fire’s suspicious nature, the Illinois State Fire Marshal investigated the scene and ruled the fire an arson. A suspect was identified, and Palos Hills police took Daoud into custody June 15 on suspicion of arson.

After presenting the case to the Cook County State’s Attorney, felony charges were approved, police said.
