Palos Hills Police Find Gunshot Victim At Advocate Christ

A man with a gunshot wound showed up at Christ Hospital as Palos Hills police investigated a shots fired call.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A man shot in Palos Hills showed up at a nearby hospital as police investigated a shots fired call late Thursday evening.

Around 11:40 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunshots being fired by a strip of businesses in the 10300 block of Harlem Ave. Witnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area but did not see anything.

A short time later, police located the wounded man at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, apparently after self-transporting. The man is said to be in stable condition.

Police believe the shooting was the result of an altercation of some sort by a group of people standing on the street.

“We’re working on video from nearby businesses,” said Deputy Chief Bradley Fletcher, of the Palos Hills Police Department.

The shooting appears to have been an isolated incident and police say there is no ongoing threat to the community.
