Palos Hills Wine And Spirits Shop Targeted In Smash-And-Grab Burglary

Three people entered Maple Lake Wine and Spirits shop after busting the window while a fourth person stood outside as lookout, police say.

PALOS HILLS, IL — Four people are believed to have smashed windows at a wine and spirits store making away with thousands of dollars worth of merchandise during the early morning hours of Oct. 21, Palos Hills police reports said.

Around 3:20 a.m., a witness standing around ## and ## reported seeing someone break the windows of Maple Lake Wine & Spirits, 8801 W. 95th St. Officers observed the front window had been smashed, but were unable to find anyone at the scene.

The shop’s security cameras captured a black SUV rolling into the parking lot. Four people jumped out of the vehicle, when one used a tool to break the window, reports said.

Three entered the store and grabbed bottles of wine and liquor while the fourth person stood outside as a lookout. The owner of the shop told police that $16,304 worth of merchandise was stolen.

The burglary is under investigation.
