Palos-Orland League of Women Voters Present Candidates Workshop
Attorney Scott Uhler will lead a candidates' workshop on how to run for office at the Palos Heights Library on Saturday, Oct. 12.
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Ever want to run for office? Think you can do better than your local elected leaders? The League of Women Voters of Palos-Orland Area will host a candidates’ workshop on “How To Run For Office, on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Palos Heights Public Library, 12501 S. 71st Ave. This free workshop is open to the public and starts at 9:30 a.m. Coffee will be served.
Attorney Scott Uhler, a partner with the Klein, Thorpe, Jenkins Law, will present the requirements to run for office in Illinois. Participants will learn how and where to file, deadlines, resources, circulating petitions and how to keep yourself from getting tossed off the ballot. Uhler has extensive experience in matters pertaining to elections, Illinois laws and educational issues.
The League of Women Voters of the Palos-Orland Area is a non-partisan organization which draws members from approximately fifteen south suburbs, including Palos Heights, Palos Park, Palos Hills, Orland Park, Evergreen Park, Worth, Hickory Hills, Homer Glen, Oak Lawn, Mokena, Lemont, Lockport, Tinley Park, Frankfort and New Lenox.
