Palos Park Celebrates The Mighty Oak At 'OAK-tober Fest'

PALOS PARK, IL — The Village of Palos Park will celebrate the mighty oak Monday, Oct. 9. The first ever OAK-Tober Fest runs from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the village green, 8901 W. 123rd St. An earlier “Tiny Tot” Fest takes place from 10 a.m. to noon.

The family friendly fest calls attention to oaks and oak ecosystems across Illinois duringt the month of October. Through games, activities and crafts, attendees will learn how every child, adult, organization, community, forest preserve, and public or private landowner plays an important role in caring for these majestic friends.

Watch out for the jack-o-lantern mushrooms.
