PALOS PARK, IL — The Village of Palos Park will bring residents and their best friends together Saturday, May 18, for the second annual Doggie Dash 5K and 1 Mile Run and Walk. The 5K starts at 9 a.m., and 1-Mile Run and Walk steps off at 9:15 a.m. at the Palos Park Rec Center, 8901 W. 123rd St.

The race course takes runners and walkers though Palos Park’s bucolic rolling hills, an abundance of trees and quiet streets. After the race, the festivities ramp up on the Village Green for a “post-race village,” featuring food, local pet-themed vendors and a Pup Parade, with prizes for best costume, cutest pup, best personality and more.

Online/advance registration for Doggie Dash is open until May 17: $45 for the 5K Run/Walk and $30 for the 1-mile walk. People must register before May 3 to be guaranteed a race shirt and finisher medal. Participants are welcome with or without their pooches.
