Palos Park Fishing Derby Set for April 15 at Papoose Lake

Prizes will be awarded for the largest fish caught within different age groups.

PALOS PARK, IL -- The Palos Park Recreation and Parks Department is teaming up with Forest Preserves of Cook County and Bass Pro Shops to host a Spring Fishing Derby on Saturday, April 15.

The FREE derby will take place at Papoose Lake at 123rd Street, just west of LaGrange Road. Registration opens at 8 a.m. Fishing will take place from 8:30 until 11 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded for the largest fish caught within different age groups. Fishing poles will be available. This is a CATCH and RELEASE fishing derby. A fishing license is exempt for this event.
