Palos Resident Stars in Mother McAuley Theatre Group Play

Palos Hills resident Elizabeth Khouri is cast as Livey in "Elsewhere in Elsinore: The Unseen Women of Hamlet."

Mother McAuley High School senior theatre students will present Elsewhere in Elsinore: The Unseen Women of Hamlet on Friday, February 6 and Saturday, February 7 at 7 p.m. in the McAuley Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door. Palos Hills resident Elizabeth Khouri ’15 will appear in the production asElsewhere in Elsinore: The Unseen Women of Hamlet was written by Caleen Sinnette Jennings in 2008. This tragedy follows the lives of Ophelia, Gertrude and other women unmentioned in Shakespeare’s Hamlet, such as the ladies-in-waiting, seamstresses, washerwomen, maids, and wives and girlfriends of the play’s male characters.

For the production, McAuley and Brother Rice students not only perform in the show, they create the costumes, build the set, and produce the play. Featured in the production are Jessica Pedroza (Orland Park) and Annabel Oliver (Morgan Park) as Ophelia, Claire Cunningham (Beverly) and Suzanne Dwyer (Tinley Park) as Gertrude, Rachel Zuppa (Oak Lawn) and Erin Cunnea (Crestwood) as Gruen, Patricia Green (Beverly) and Valerie Ponce (Mt. Greenwood) as Lady Hilda, Jhyia Gafeney (Brainerd) as Liad, Mpatanishi Matthews (Ashburn) as Frieda, Danielle Griffin (Beverly) and Jessica Marchetti (Garfield Ridge) as Elspeth, Falyn King (Ashburn) as Nardeth, Aida Ibarra (Scottsdale) as Berthe, Norma Palomino (Clearing) as Jorgan, Hailey Royster (South Shore) as Enon, Maya Dunson (Ashburn) as Dakin, Becca Stockover (Morgan Park) as Tava, Elizabeth Khouri (Palos Hills) as Livey, and Nick Pavlik from Brother Rice as all of the male roles.
