Palos South 8th Grade Basketball finishes 2nd in SWIC Conference

The Palos South 8th Grade Basketball team finished its season with a second place finish in the Southwest Interscholastic Conference (SWIC).

The Palos South 8th Grade Basketball team finished its season with a second place finish in the Southwest Interscholastic Conference (SWIC) and third in the SWIC post-season tournament.

Coach Randy Buvala said the team was 2-1 in non-conference play and finished the season in second place in the conference with a 13-3 record. They finished 3rd in the post season SWIC tournament with a 2-1 record for a 17-5 over all season record.

Buvala, who also teaches art and social studies at Palos South, pointed out the team’s “exceptional unity throughout the season” as one of the key ingredients to their success.

“They gave everything they had every time on the court,” he said, adding, “I expect to see great things from these young men in the future.”
