Palos South Cardinal Cheer Team Finishes in First Place at Spartan Showdown
This is the Cardinals second top finish of the 2025-26 season.

Palos South Middle School’s Competition Cheerleading team nabbed another 1st place win at the Spartan Showdown competition at Marian Catholic High School on January 25th.
The win is the second number one finish for the team this season. The Cardinals competed in the small junior high division against four other schools and received a score of 85.73, their highest to date. The team will compete next in the IESA State Cheerleading Competition in Peoria on February 11th.
Coach Ashley Partin said that despite an injury earlier in the week, the team quickly recovered and is already looking ahead to strengthen their routine and sharpen their execution for the State finals where they will compete against a field of 30 teams from across Illinois.
