Palos South Girls Basketball Wins SWIC Championship
Madeline Jackovac, Maeve Coffey, and Rosie Barry were named to the SWIC All-Conference team. Madeline Jackovac earned tournament MVP.

Palos South’s sixth and seventh grade girls’ basketball team has won the Southwest Interscholastic Conference (SWIC) Championship.
The Cardinals won in the opening round against the Evergreen Panthers (Evergreen Park) 29-15 to advance to the semifinals against the Century Wildcats winning 24-16. They then advanced to the championship game against the Oak Lawn Hometown Mustangs (OLHMS). The Cardinals edged past the Mustangs 17-15 in an exciting closely matched tournament championship game played on December 14th.
Palos South players Madeline Jackovac, Maeve Coffey, and Rosie Barry were named to the SWIC All-Conference team. Madeline Jackovac earned the SWIC tournament MVP award.

Head coach Scott Adams said that winning the championship was an exciting end to the season and credits it to the hard work of the team and assistant coach Randy Buvala.
“The team had an amazing season exceeding my expectations,” said Adams, adding, “I appreciate the hard work, effort, and determination they demonstrated.”
