Palos South Girls Go Undefeated in SWIC Conference

The Cardinals were undefeated in conference play with a record of 11 wins and zero losses.

Palos South’s eighth grade girls’ basketball team recently won the Southwest Interscholastic Conference (SWIC) Championship.

The Cardinals were undefeated in conference play with a record of 11 wins and zero losses. The team won the SWIC post-season tournament, defeating Orland Jr. High, Tinley Central Middle School, and Oak Lawn Hometown Middle School.

Palos South players Brooklyn Parr, Grace Roe, Makaleigh Terry, Sofia Wilson, and Katy Zumerchik were all named to the SWIC All-Conference team. Makaleigh Terry was also voted the Tournament MVP.

“It was an absolute pleasure to work with such a talented team,” said coach Randy Buvala, adding, “They played consistently with intensity and a desire to win. I look forward to seeing them play at the next level.”
