Palos South Mathletes Place 2nd at SWIC Competition

Brian Kaufmann received a 1st place award, and Mohammad Abdelhamid took 2nd place in the individual categories.

Students from Palos South Middle School recently competed in the annual SWIC (Southwest Interscholastic Conference) mathletes contest at Liberty Junior High. The team’s coaches are Gina Marek and Dan DeWolf with assistance from Brigid Englehart.

The Palos South seventh-grade team took 2nd place overall. Brian Kaufmann received a 1st place award, and Mohammad Abdelhamid secured a 2nd place award in the individual categories.

“The students practiced so much for this contest and I am so happy to see their hard work pay off,” said Mrs. Marek.
