Palos South Middle School Drama Students Perform Newsies Jr.

Palos South Middle School in Palos School District 118 hosted two nights of sold-out performances of the musical Newsies Jr. in January.

Drama Club students at Palos South Middle School in Palos School District 118 hosted two nights of sold-out performances of the musical Newsies Jr. at Stagg High School in January. This year’s production included over one hundred Palos South students who performed, built sets, served as stage crew, and ran lighting and sound.

Leads included Paige Kribs as Jack Kelly, Bella Watson as Crutchie, and Emily Koenig as Katherine.

Palos South 8th Grade ELA Teacher Jessica Marovich directed along with 8th Grade ELA/Social Studies Teacher Kevin Graham served as assistant director.

Palos South Music teacher Amanda Schuller oversaw vocal performances, Band Director Stavros Makropoulos directed sound and lighting, and art teacher Randy Buvala lead the play’s set design.
