Police Offering Free Gun Locks To Palos Park Gun Owners
Palos Park police is giving away 200 gun locks for free to residents as part of Project ChildSafe while supplies last. .

PALOS PARK, IL — Palos Park police are offering village residents or gun owners with children free gun locking devices and gun safety literature. The police department has obtained 200 gun safety kits through Project ChildSafe. These kids will be made available to any village resident or gun owner within Palos Park.
Project ChildSafe is a nationwide program whose purpose is to promote safe firearms handling and storage practices among all firearms owners through the distribution of key safety education pamphlets and free gun locking devices. The program is supported by the U.S. Department of Justice.
“We encourage all gun owners to store weapons in a location that is inaccessible to children, regardless of age, with ammunition stored separately,” Palos Park Police Commissioner Dan Polk said.

Palos Park police are also offering the File for Life emergency medical information packet for paramedics in case of an emergency as well as “no solicitor” stickers for your door.
