Police Seek Tips on Jewel-Osco Purse Thief: Cops

PALOS PARK, IL -- Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a woman believed to have snatch a woman’s purse at a local supermarket. The theft happened Thursday morning at the Jewel-Osco store in Palos Park.

Surveillance images provided by police showed an African-American woman walking around the store at 9652 W. 131st St. The purported thief moved in an unsuspecting elderly woman and removed her handbag from the cart and left the store. The suspect was last seen leaving the Jewel in an older model, 4-door white car.

The suspect is in her mid-thirties weighing around 180 pounds. She was wearing black sweatpants with word “pink” in white on her left pants leg, a black sweatshirt and white tennis shoes.
