Earlier this year, the International Skating Union applied to the International Olympic Committee to have Synchronized Skating included in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games at Pyeongchang, South Korea. If approved, Synchronized Skating would become the fifth discipline of figure skating, joining ladies singles, mens singles, pairs and dance.
