Road Resurfacing Begins on McCarthy Road in Palos Park and Lemont

PALOS PARK-LEMONT, IL -- Starting the week of Aug. 21, the Illinois Department of Transportation announced that lane closures will take place along McCarthy Road from Illinois 171 to U.S. 45 and from Illinois Street to Barton Road, in Lemont and Palos Park, weather permitting. The closures are necessary for a resurfacing project along McCarthy Road.

In order to complete the work, McCarthy Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction with flaggers during construction activities. The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2018. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
