Ruse Burglar Posing As 'Water Inspector' Targets Palos Hills Senior

PALOS HILLS, IL — A Palos Hills resident’s home was burglarized by a pair of ruse burglars posing as “water inspectors.”

Police answered a call of burglary that had taken place Aug. 9 in the 11200 block of Deerpath Lane. The elderly resident told officers that a man appeared at her door, stating he was there to check her water for “contamination.”

Once inside, another man entered the house and swiped approximately $1,000 worth of jewelry.
