Ruse Burglars Strike Palos Hills
While a man posed as a ComEd worker distracted the homeowner, police said his friends stole $1,000 from a safe, reports said.
PALOS HILLS, IL — Ruse burglars entered a home in the 9700 block of 81st Avenue and stole cash while distracting the homeowner, according to a Palos Hills police report.
Around 3 p.m. Jan. 12, a man showed up at the home claiming to be Commonwealth Edison worker. While distracting the homeowner, police said the fake ComEd worker’s accomplices entered the rear of the residence and stole $1,000 from a safe from a back room.
