Oak Forest Contractor Wanted For Home Repair Fraud: Warrant
Oak Lawn homeowner paid $6,641 for home repair work, but the contractor never purchased materials or performed the work, cop tells judge.

OAK LAWN, IL -- An arrest warrant was issued for an Oak Forest man who allegedly defrauded an Oak Lawn homeowner. Anthony Bernichio, 41, is wanted on a felony charge of home repair fraud.
An Oak Lawn police officer said that Bernichio had entered into a contract with the homeowner on Nov. 26, 2017 to perform home repair work. The homeowner paid 6,641.73, but police said that Bernichio never purchased materials or performed the work, but just tarped the damaged area. Bernichio issued a $5,000 refund to homeowner, but the check was returned for insufficient funds, the detective said. Police talked to Bernichio once, but said they never heard back from them.
Bernichio’s last known address is in the 5200 block of Nicholas Court in Oak Forest. The judge issued an arrest warrant for $70,000.
