State Sen. Willie Preston Serves as "Principal for the Day"

Jaguar Pride was alive and well at Conrady Junior High School as several hundred students received awards Wednesday for their academic, humanitarian and athletic performances.
Assistant Principals Dorita McCabe and Spencer Brown emceed the annual award’s program that highlighted students in sixth- , seventh- and eighth-grades. Students received medals and/or certificates for their accomplishments.
State Sen. Willie Preston (D-16th) served as Principal for the Day and assisted in handing out awards to students as a gymnasium packed with their peers and parents cheered them on.

In addressing students, staff and parents, Sen. Preston said how proud he was of the students and staff for serving as a benchmark school and district for its high academic performance.
“You are one of the premier schools in the suburbs and I’m so proud of you,” he said. “I brag about you all the time. I am a proud Jaguar today!”
