PALOS, IL — Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison (17th District), who was vaccinated earlier this year, announced Wednesday that he has a breakthrough COVID-19 infection.

Cook County’s top Republican, Morrison tested positive for COVID-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms. He is remaining quarantined at home, but is continuing his duties remotely and is in regular communication with staff, in accordance with CDC guidelines. Morrison’s wife, a registered nurse, and two daughters have both tested negative are also quarantining.
