Second Floor Of Green Hills Library To Be Temporarily Closed For Floor Repairs

The Green Hills Public Library District has announced that the second floor library will be temporarily closed from March 9 to March 17 to complete necessary flooring repairs. The project is part of the library’s overall building maintenance plan and its commitent to optimizing spaces for safety, accessibility and comfort. Last year, the library district welcoming nearly 112,000 visitors resulting in significant foot traffi throughout the building.

During the partial closure, staff will be available by phone and email to assist with inquiries and provide support as needed during normal operating hours. All programming in the ground floor and first floor meeting rooms will occur as scheduled. Voting for the Illinois General Primary Election will take place on March 17 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

“We appreciate the community’s patience while this work is being completed,” Jane Jenkins, library director, said in a news release “We hope people will take advantage of our 24-Hour Library kiosk located just outside the main entrance for a wide selection of books and movies, as well as our digital resources online. We look forward to welcoming our patrons back to a newly refreshed space soon.”
