'Sensory Friendly' Block Returns to Palos Heights July 4th Parade
A 'sensory friendly' block has been set aside along the Palos Heights July 4th parade route for individuals with sensory sensitives.
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- The “sensory friendly” block returns to the Palos Heights Fourth of July Parade, courtesy of the Palos Heights Recreation Department and SWSRA(Southwest Special Recreation Association). The parade steps off at noon on Thursday, July 4. The parade begins at Harris Bank, 12534 S Harlem Ave. and travels north down Harlem Avenue to 119th Place.

Children and adults with sensory sensitivities can also experience the parade. A “sensory friendly” block has been designated on Harlem Avenue from 120th Street to Harlem and Route 83. The "sensory friendly block" is designed to provide a less stimulating environment to individuals with sensitivities to sensory input. There will be no lights, sirens or music.
