Sharing Circle Helps People Preserve Their Life Story In Legacy Letter
Join Palos Heights attorney Eileen Kerlin Walsh for a free virtual Q&A session July 24 for tips and tricks on writing your life story.
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — Palos Heights attorney Eileen Kerlin Walsh will lead a virtual workshop Sunday, July 24, where participants can rekindle their memories and pass on their wisdom in a letter to friends, family and future generations.
Kerlin Walsh is the founder and creator of Share My Legacy, a step-by-step program that guides participants in documenting their moments of great personal meaning in their lives.
"A Legacy Letter, historically known as an Ethical Will, is a letter on the meaning of the writer's life for the benefit of themselves and others. It is a journey into memory to reveal the experiences that shaped the writer's world view," according to the Kerlin Walsh Law website. "The result is an amalgam of ancestry, memoir and inspirational guide. It captures forever the writer's place in history and enriches the lives of its readers. This deep human instinct to leave a footprint has ancient heritage. There are examples of Legacy Letters and Ethical Wills dating back thousands of years. The intent of a Legacy Letter is not just to tell stories. The intent is to gift the reflections on these stories to loved ones."
Sunday’s session features a question and answer session with Kerlin Walsh. Whether you’ve attended past workshops or are new to the process, participants will share their writing experiences, tips and tricks, and as always, their stories.
