Shepard's RJ Collins Eliminated from 'The Voice'
Shepard High School graduate RJ Collins is eliminated from 'The Voice.'

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL -- Shepard High School graduate RJ Collins was dismissed from NBC’s ‘The Voice’ after sharing a duet with fellow contestant Chris Blue. The two battled it out over Miguel’s song “Adorn,” but in the end, team coach Alicia Keys chose Blue to remain on her team.
"From the beginning, I never thought I would make it this far," said RJ, who graduated from Shepard in 2016.
This is the second consecutive year that a Dist. 218 student made it to ‘The Voice.’ Last fall, Richards High School graduate Jason Warrior made it to knockout round.
Another Chicago-area singer, Micah Tryba, of Wheaton, also got bounced off the show Tuesday.
Season 12 ‘The Voice’ airs at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday on NBC. The winner will get a recording contract.
