Sherron L. Coffey (nee Smagac)

Sherron was the firstborn child of the late George and Anne Smagac (nee Pragovich), dear sister of Nancy, George, Ronnie, Dennis, Diane (dec.), Linda, and Tina, and caring aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She attended Academy of Our Lady on the south side of Chicago. After graduating in 1963, Sherron went on to have a successful career in mortgage banking until her retirement in 2014.

Sherron loved birds, books, gardening, and golf, and will be remembered for her kind smile, warm laugh, and ability to see the bright side of life’s challenges.

Sherron was laid to rest at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Evergreen Park on Friday, February 4th, with a small service attended by friends and family.

In honor of Sherron’s love of animals, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the West Suburban Humane Society in Downers Grove at wshs-dg.org. A celebration of life event will be held in her honor later this Spring.
