Shredding, Drug Drop-off Planned At Palos Heights Metra Station

Palos Heights residents can bring their documents for shredding or drop off unused or expired drugs for disposal this Saturday, Aug. 21.

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — A paper shredding event will be held this Saturday, Aug. 21, in Palos Heights. The shredding truck will be available from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Palos Heights Metra Station parking lot, 11451 Southwest Highway.

The Palos Heights Police Department will also be on site accepting unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications for disposal (no liquids, needles or salves). For paper shredding, each car may bring 2 to 3 boxes of paper for shredding. The event is open to Palos Heights residents.

Document shredding is one of the most effective tools in preventing identity theft. Shredding documents also has positive environmental impacts; once shredded, all paper is recycled, thereby reducing the amount of waste in landfills.
