Darla's Hit Second Time In Month By Smash-And-Grab Crew: Reports

A smash-and-grab crew bludgeoned their way into the gaming cafe during the overnight hours of May 6, Palos Hills police said.

PALOS HILLS, IL—Thieves smashed into a Palos Hills gaming cafe, leaving behind a mess and fleeing with money pilfered from video gaming terminals, reports said.

Palos Hills police responded to a burglar alarm at Darla’s Gaming Cafe, 10602 S. Roberts Road, during the overnight hours of May 6.

When officers arrived, the front door glass panel had been shattered. The crew moved inside, where they bludgeoed the video gaming machines and pilfered money from the cash boxes.

The smash-and-grab burglary is part of an exploding trend targeting video gaming machines and ATMs in bars, restaurants and gaming cafes across Chicagoland.

This is the second time Darla’s has been hit within the past month. The burglary is under investigation.
