Smash-And-Grab Thief Hits Car Parked At Trailhead
Palos Park police said the hiker's credit card was used at a store in Bridgeivew.
PALOS PARK, IL — A hiker reported that her car was burglarized Sunday while it was parked in the trailhead parking lot. Palos Park police are reminding visitors and residents to lock their vehicles and not leave their valuables lying around in plain sight.
According to Palos Park police, the hiker reported that she had parked her car in the parking lot near Route 83 and 86th Street. When she returned from the trail, someone smashed the car windows and stole her purse. Police tracked one of the stolen credit cards from the hiker’s purse to a store in Bridgeview.
Before heading to trails, lock your valuables in the trunk of her vehicle, or leave them at home. Don’t hide your car keys on or near your vehicle. Also, note any suspicious vehicles, including the car’s description and plate number. Call 911 immediately to report any suspicious activity.
