Southwest Symphony Orchestra Announces 2026–2027 Season at Mother McAuley HS
SSO has entered a partnership with Mother McAuley HS for 2026-2027. There will also be 5 new conductors for the season.

The Southwest Symphony Orchestra (SSO) and Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School have announced that Mother McAuley’s Chicago campus will serve as the orchestra’s host venue for the 2026–2027 concert season.
For the past 25 years, the SSO performed at Ozinga Chapel on the campus of Trinity Christian College. Following the college’s closure in May, the orchestra began the search for a new home and identified Mother McAuley as an ideal venue. The partnership also renews a longstanding connection between the two institutions, as Mother McAuley previously hosted SSO performances from 1974 through 2000. Three of the orchestra’s four regular-season concerts will be presented at Mother McAuley, while the fourth will be held at Richards HS due to scheduling considerations. As in prior years, the holiday concerts will continue to be offered at other venues to broaden community participation.
The orchestra also announced a leadership transition for the upcoming season. Its newly appointed music director has stepped down following his family’s relocation outside Illinois. In response, five guest conductors will lead the orchestra throughout the season, offering audiences a dynamic range of musical interpretation and artistic perspective.
