Stagg Auto Students Take FIRST in Skills Competition

Two Chargers medal in individual competition

Amos Alonzo Stagg High School automotive students took first place at the recent High School Automotive Technology Skills Competition, hosted by Moraine Valley Community College. The event included nine local high schools with nine students on each team. Participating schools included Sandburg, Andrew, Shepard, Oaklawn, Reavis, Argo and Richards high schools.

The students were given a 70-question written exam and several hands-on exams, including electrical diagnosis, service Information, fasteners & micrometers and an on-car testing component.

Overall, Stagg High School finished in 1st place. Individually, freshman Arkadiusz Garczek finished 2nd and junior Antony Sendeha finished in third place.

A plaque and a traveling trophy were awarded to the best team and medals were awarded to the top three individuals.
