Stagg Auto students take FIRST in Skills Competition

Amos Alonzo Stagg High School automotive students took first place at the recent High School Automotive Technology Skills Competition hosted by Moraine Valley Community College. The event included eight local high schools with eight students on each team. Participating schools included Andrew, Shepard, Oaklawn, Reavis, Argo, Eisenhower, and Richards high schools.

The students were given a 70-question written exam and several hands-on exams, including electrical diagnosis, fasteners & micrometers, and an on-car testing component.

Overall, Stagg High School finished in 1st place. Individually, sophomore Arkadiusz Garczek finished 1st, and senior Antony Sendeha finished in 2nd place.

A plaque and a traveling trophy were awarded to the best team and medals were awarded to the top three individuals.
