Stagg Student Charged In Restroom Fight That Injured Staff Member
A Stagg student is being charged as a juvenile with two counts of battery for her alleged role in a fight that injured a staff member.

PALOS HILLS, IL — A Stagg High School student has been charged as a juvenile with two counts of battery in a fight that left a staff member injured with she tried to break it up, police said.
The incident unfolded around noon Tuesday, when the North Palos Fire Protection District was notified of a person injured in a fall at the high school. The staff member heard two girls arguing in the restroom when she went in to intervene. Police said the staff member went into the restroom to intervene when she was knocked to the floor.
The staff member was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, but was expected to be released, Stagg principal Eric Olsen told parents in an email blast.

“We are thankful for the staff member who intervened, as well as others who came to her and the student's aid. The Stagg Community looks out for each other, and for that I am grateful,” Olsen said.
Olsen said that any incident at the high school involving a physical altercation is referred to the Palos Hills Police Department for further investigation. The dean’s office is investigating as well, so that students determined to be directly involved will be disciplined as well, the principal added.

“Please know that we take situations involving safety very seriously and will take all appropriate action to keep our students and staff safe,” Olsen said. “Additionally, any incident involving a physical altercation is referred to the police department to determine if criminal charges may be filed.”
