Tickets Available for Chocolate Tasting at Trinity College

Love is in the air and there is nothing like chocolate to make it sweeter.

On Saturday February 13th from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Love INC. will host the 2nd Annual Chocolate Tasting at Trinity Christian College in the ARCC Building. Trinity College is located at 6601 College Drive in Palos Heights, Illinois.

Love INC. Tinley Park Executive Director Kim Sullivan encourages couples to attend this Valentine date night. “This is a great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart,” said Sullivan. “For one thing, everybody loves chocolate and we will have a variety of chocolate and pairings to delight any chocolate lover. There will also be live music, hot chocolate bar, chocolate fountain and a lovely assortment of silent and live auction items. The best part of this event is that while you have the time of your life tasting chocolate, you are also benefitting the community by helping Love INC of Tinley to grow and expand our reach”, she added.

What is Love INC.? Love INC. is a help agency for needs such as food, furniture, housing and more. Love INC. works with area churches and volunteers to meet those needs, also offering spiritual support.

Daily requests come in such as gas or bus card needs, assistance for the elderly and homeless as well as toiletry items.

According to Love INC. website, These needs have inspired us to open up Aslan’s Wardrobe - a ministry that gives free coats to adults experiencing hardship, our Personal Care Pantry (toiletry items), and our Beds & Blessings ministry which provides linens and bunk beds to families that have been displaced by disaster or crisis. In addition, our new Fresh Start Kits consisting of dishes, glasses, silverware and other household items are collected and delivered to families in need.

“Our boundaries are currently, Tinley Park, Orland Hills, and Orland Park,” said Sullivan. “However, we are excited to be adding to our area, Oak Forest, Matteson and Country Club Hills. We will be doing this in phases. This year we will be concentrating on Oak Forest. In order to add this area to our service community, we are going to need to increase our budget so that we can add hours to our Clearinghouse staff, “ she added. “This is why our fundraisers, like the Chocolate Tasting, are so important.”

Love INC. has changed many lives. On their website, you read of clients becoming volunteers.

“When I think of the difference Love INC brings to our client’s lives the first word that comes to mind is hope,” said Sullivan. “From the first time that a person in need calls, we are committed to being interested in them as a person, not just a need to be filled. We are able to accomplish that by allowing the client to tell us their story in their own words, we also have added additional questions such as, “What are your hopes and dreams?” It is our desire to help them feel that they are cared for spirit, soul and body.”
