Virtual Event Addresses COVID-19, Flu Prevention For Older Adults
PLOWS Council On Aging plans a virtual presentation Sept. 17 to help older adults prepare for flu season and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
PALOS HEIGHTS, IL — PLOWS Council on Aging invites the public to a free Zoom presentation to help older adults and their caregivers prepare for the flu season in the fall and winter, and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.
Dr. Michael Ison, an infectious disease expert from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, will discuss the progress of vaccine trials and clarify Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for COVID-19, inclcuding:
- The forecast for COVID-19
- The urgency to vaccinate for the flu
- An update on COVID-19 vaccine trials
- Ways older adults can maintain their healthy bubble
There will also be time for questions and answers. In addition to PLOWS, this virtual presentation is also made possible by Skyline Village Chicago, Forward Chicago and Northwestern Medicine.
