Virtual Job Fair Planned For Teachers, Administrators, Subs

The Illinois Association of School Personnel Administrators will host a statewide job fair March 8 for aspiring, new and veteran teachers.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — If you’re a recent college graduate with a teaching degree, or a veteran educator looking to make a change, the Illinois Association of School Personnel Administrators is hosting a virtual job fair from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8. All current and aspiring Illinois educators are welcome.

Teachers continue to be in huge demand as more leave or retire from the profession. Nearly 90 percent of districts around the state are reporting staffing shortages, according to a 2021 study published by the Illinois Association of Regional Superintendents of Schools. Among those districts, 77 percent have said the problem is getting worse, and almost half of respondents reported teacher burnout.

Now more than ever, students in all communities across Illinois need committed educators. Districts are hiring licensed teachers, administrators, counselors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, speech/language pathologists, licensed paraprofessionals and substitute teachers.
