PALOS HILLS, IL — A Palos Hills resident lost $1,000 after receiving a phony text from someone claiming to be a Chase Bank representative, reports said.

The resident told police they received a text from someone they believed to be a Chase Bank representative. Finding the text suspicious, the resident changed their password.

A few minutes later, the resident received a vulgar text regarding the password change. The resident called Chase to freeze their account, but by then $1,000 had been fraudulently withdrawn and Zelled to an unknown person, police said.
