Welcome Fall at Palos Park's Autumn In the Park

PALOS PARK, IL -- Welcome fall at Palos Park’s Autumn in the Park this weekend on the Village Green, at 8901 W. 123rd St. in Palos Park. The fall festival features a cornucopia of food, spirits, live music, a parade, art, children’s activities, cook-offs and more. Hours are 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15 and 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16.

Highlights include:

• Amateur BBQ Cook-Off - Ribs & Chicken - Put your ribs to the test Sat., Sept. 16 in this amateur rib cook-off. Be a taster.
• Chili Cook-Off - Is your chili the best? Let your friends and neighbors decide. Be a taster for $5 and help pick the People’s Choice winner. Sat., Sept. 16.
• Musical Acts: Friday, Sept. 15, 7 to 10:30 p.m. ARRA Classic Rock. Saturday, Sept. 16, 3 to 6 p.m., The Hat Guys; 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Modern Day Romeos.
• Featured Food Vendors - Aurelio’s Pizza, Azteca Catering, C.O.P.S., Doughs Guys Bakery, Frangella’s Italian Market, Great Lakes Kettle Corn, Palos Park Women’s Club, Plush Horse, Robinson’s Ribs, The Original Island Shrimp Company and Zacarelli’s Pizza. Beer, wine and spirits are also available for purchase.
• The Parade - Civic leaders, fire and police vehicles, horses, bands, floats, walking groups, bike groups and more will step at 82nd Avenue on 123rd Street in Palos Park and travels westbound to 90th Avenue year the festival grounds. Best viewing areas are at 88th Avenue at Plush Horse, 89th Avenue at the Presbyterian Church and at the corner of Memorial Drive and 123rd Street at the Recreation Center, 11 a.m. Sat., Sept. 16.

• Artisan Demonstrations - Observe artisans at work, visit the Palos Park Fine Arts Area and create your own masterpiece at the Art Colony, noon to 6 p.m. Sat., Sept. 16.
• Tot Town - Climbing wall, crafts, bouncy houses, carnival games and a petting zoo, noon to 6 p.m. Sat., Sept. 16.
