Why Entrepreneurship?

A brief look into what entrepreneurship is and its benefits

With the holiday season fast approaching it's easy to get caught up in the buying frenzy and the annual repetition that comes along with it. But beneath each toy and gift that you buy stands a story, and an entrepreneur. Whether you're buying from a national brand or one you don't recognize, someone founded it and took upon themselves a call to action called entrepreneurship. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, an entrepreneur is "one who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise." These men and women, empowered and emboldened, with an idea in mind, forged a company hoping for profit and success to be around the corner. By no means is this an easy path, entrepreneurs leave behind their lives of job security for something as unpredictable as the future, quite literally. Nevertheless, it's in their blood to be risk-takers and rule breakers, pursuing their dreams and aspirations above all costs. In 2014 alone, over 452,000 businesses were created, showing the prevalence of entrepreneurship. Though a rocky path, entrepreneurship does reap benefits such as flexible hours, profits, and the ability to attribute success to your own faculties. As the wise Johann Von Goethe said, "What is not started will never get finished." Therefore, pursue entrepreneurship, with a lightness of spirit, and a heart of grit and determination, ready to take on the world ahead of you!
